Title: Nanomaterials and Structuring for Sensors
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Overview of Juergen Brugger's and Christofer Hierold's lectures:

This course will give a review and update on nanofabrication methods for structuring and integration of nanomaterials and will discuss potential applications as in micro- and nanosystems. We will review in particular emerging nanopatterning methods, both top-down and bottom-up, in view of clean, cost-efficient fabrication of functional micro and nanodevices. Current status of state-of-the-art and upcoming challenges will be summarized.

The second part of the course will present fabrication, integration and application of single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) for sensors. We will focus on SWNT FETs as functional elements for chemical sensors and electromechanical transducers. The state of the art will be presented and discussed.
