Dear Global Transducers Community,
Welcome to your biennial international conference held during 2021, that will be held virtually. This year's meeting will be the 40th Anniversary of Transducers
, which was first held in 1981 in Boston, Massachusetts. The 2021 conference will be scheduled to maximize global accessibility through a unique plan where 3-hour synchronous event blocks are hosted in an alternating pattern between three virtual time zones, centering on the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans. All presentations will be recorded in advance, so that participants can view the presentations before each synchronous block of live interaction. This conference will leverage advances in virtual conference tools to provide opportunities for perusing virtual poster and exhibit halls with colleagues, joining colleagues in small discussions around virtual posters, as well as listening in to live panels and discussions between plenary speakers. The conference will begin on Sunday, June 20th with short courses providing training on the skills needed to succeed in the globally competitive and connected transducers research and industrial enterprises.
The conference mission of our international conference is:
to enhance the collective knowledge of the global transducers technical community and to stimulate its through providing an inclusive forum for communication, education, and collaboration.
Every other year, over 1200 engineers, scientists, and other professionals from universities, research institutions, industry, and government agencies gather at the international Transducers conference for four days of talks, posters, tutorials, and collaboration events relating to the latest advances and opportunities in our field.
For Transducers 2021, our conference will rally around the theme "Transducers for Global Transformations"
. This theme simultaneously champions the range of "small" technologies underlying the work presented at the conference, as well as the social elements of global impact, community, and diversity.
On behalf of the entire organizing team and the co-sponsoring institutions, we welcome you to attend this unique event that will showcase major technological, scientific, and commercial breakthroughs in electrical, mechanical, optical, magnetic, thermal, and biological sensors, actuators, and systems that use micro and nanotechnology.
The major areas of activity in the development of novel Sensors, Actuators, and Transducers solicited and expected at this conference include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Packaging & Solid-State Materials and Fabrication Processes
- Nanoscale Materials and Fabrication
- Composite Materials, Polymers, and Fabrication Processes
- Microfluidic Platform Technologies
